We have a fortune 100 client in the Chicagoland area that is looking for a "hands on" Documentum Architect.
The successful candidate will:
Provide overall content system design and architectural leadership working with the clients Documentum and Editorial Desktop development teams for the successful implementation of extensible editorial solutions. As part of achieving the objectives, the candidate will be responsible for creating an architectural 'model' for editorial systems that facilitate the rapid deployment of solutions supporting multiple editorial Customer Unit groups.
The candidate will have experience designing and architecting XML-based content solutions. The candidate should also have a comprehensive software design and development background, and experience with all aspects of content management, including an understanding of the complete content lifecycle: from acquisition through editorial processes to publishing channel delivery.
Create overarching content solution architecture and strategy and establishes the model for the subsequent client Customer Unit onboarding to a common solution.
Contribute to the strategy, design and planning for migrating current Documentum solutions to EMC's latest release (6.X) with a focus on aligning the architecture with the preferred/ideal content solutions model.
Provide design direction to the implementation team for the production of detailed designs and construction and rollout of content management solutions for new and existing systems using structured XML content.
Lead CTG teams in setting strategic direction for the detailed design and implementation of content management systems.
Collaborate with system users and requirements specifiers to design solutions for system enhancements.
Design solutions to address defect and problem resolution on existing deployments.
Communicate design plans and guide programming teams to ensure development activities are aligned with solution architecture.
Conduct technical research on system patches and upgrades to determine opportunities for improvements (performance, usability, etc) as well functional extensions to create a world-class editorial capability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Minimum of 15 years total IT professional experience in software design, development and architecture of content management and related solutions.
Minimum 5 years experience architecting high volume content management solutions (million + documents) for complex editorial systems based on structured XML content.
Experience creating/designing/using content taxonomies and associated tools such as Teragram or Autonomy is desired.
Experience with content publishing software such as Arbortext Editor or Xmetal, etc.
Minimum of 5 years experience designing solutions based on EMC's Documentum suite or other top tier content management technology.
Minimum of 5 years developing with Java, J2EE components (EJB, Servlet, and JSP), and JavaScript.
Experience scaling content systems horizontally and vertically desired.
Experience in Documentum D6, DFS, XML- hive, technologies a plus.
Experience in virtual document and XML application features of Documentum or equivalent.
Experience in developing SOAP based applications a plus.
Experience with .NET a plus.
An understanding of database design techniques on MS SQL Server a plus.
Candidate may be required to travel based on needs of assigned projects. Travel will not exceed 20% annually.
